Statement of Design Intent 

This game was made using the LUMEN system with influences from games such as Light and Nova by Spencer Cambell. It was chosen for its idea of being high action role-playing game. Combat is meant to be fun and fast and as the player you’re supposed to feel powerful. This is the exact mechanics that I wanted to use for a high action, cyberpunk themed, super-powered assassin game. Influences came from video games such as Destiny and Cyberpunk 2077 along with movies such as the John Wick franchise. The intent was to create a game mixing elements from all three, thus making Erebus; a game set in the distant future with supernatural assassins given powers of the dark by the God of darkness himself Erebus from Greek mythology. The name Nyxian for the players are also named after the Greek goddess of night, Nyx, Erebus sister. This is a game meant to be played with friends, over and over again, with the hope that as you play and go out on successful missions your character slowly becomes more powerful overtime, giving players more incentive to come back and keep playing the game.
